Dr. Randy Mayer grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended St. Andrew Elementary School where he received the prestigious Eagle Scout Award at the early age of 15. After graduating from Brother Martin High School in 1965, Dr. Mayer attended Loyola University where he majored in biology and chemistry.
He is a 1972 graduate of LSU school of Dentistry and passed state board examinations in both Louisiana and Florida. Before starting a private practice in 1976 in Hammond, Louisiana, Dr. Mayer served in the US Army Dental Corps for four years. Serving in the 3rd hospital Unit, 45th field hospital in Italy, and 22nd division hospital at Fort Stewart where he was promoted to Major.
He served as a clinical instructor for four years at LSU School of Dentistry. Dr. Mayer moved his practice to Albany Louisiana in 1986.
Dr. Mayer is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, Northlake Dental Association, and is an Associate Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute.
He has many hundreds of continuing education hours in all phases of Dentistry given by LSUSD, MSUDS, American Orthodontic Society, International Academy of Orthodontics, Northlake Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Las Vegas Institute, SteriOss Implants, New Orleans Dental Association, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the World Clinical Laser Institute.
